What a day!
Wow, today was great! There was a little real estate, a little construction, a little remodeling, and a lot of health all mixed together. My poor husband apparently ate a bad piece of fish yesterday (he is still a little SAD sometimes, but doing great overall!) Well, he was up all night with food poisoning and wasn’t feeling too good this morning. Dr. Christy immediately had to do some research because I just had never had to deal with food poisoning before and wasn’t sure what to do, although my instincts said ginger and lemon. So the first thing I did was juice a whole lemon, 4 apples, and ginger into a drink. He drank that but was still getting sick later.
I then read where the sugar can actually feed the bad bacteria (oops!), but that straight lemon juice and Apple Cider Vinegar are very powerful acids that will kill the bacteria and viruses. There were some compelling testimonials, so I marched upstairs with a few ounces of Apple Cider Vinegar. He hated that, but drank it anyway, on my insistence. Worked like a charm! Just a little while later he was in the kitchen looking for food and feeling better, although he has rested all day. So there’s an interesting tip for you! The lemon may have worked if I hadn’t mixed the apples with it.
The internet is such a great source of information, but be careful. I had to look through many websites proclaiming ‘natural’ cures before I found a truly holistic solution. Several of those websites suggested Coca Cola and things like that. Yuck! Coca Cola IS food poisoning! It’s certainly not a natural cure! Remember, Be Defiant! Use your common sense and don’t just follow the crowd. Use your best judgment and really look at the suggestions, and consider the source and the proof offered. The site I found had great testimonials, which is what convinced me of the correct course of action.
Today, I got one house under contract, made an offer on another home, got a crew started with the demolition of a basement my construction company is remodeling, worked out (quickly, but I made it!), sold some superfoods, did a lot of work on the new home we are building for a client, met with my friend at Pivotal Fitness where we are revamping the smoothie bar area with Sun Warrior and raw living foods, and finished a course I am taking in Marine Navigation. Whew! When I take the test in a couple of weeks, I will have achieved Piloting status–for boats, not planes! Here’s a picture of our ‘baby’ the Soul Mate (We named it that because Michael & I are Soul Mates!):

Michael & me on the Soul Mate, our little cabin cruiser. We would definitely rather be on the water! In this picture we are on the intercoastal waterway between Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC.
I sold a house today! Yay! Real estate isn’t dead, just barely breathing.
Kind of like ‘The Heart of Rock and Roll’, it’s still beating. My wonderful client is buying his first home and he is so excited. He is a firefighter and just a really good guy. I am so happy for him!
On another note, I have been supposed to have a closing for almost a week now, but FHA has lost their minds. I have never seen anything like what they are requesting for documentation. Here’s the scenario: My seller was transferred out of state by his company. The company uses a very large relocation company to sell the homes. The relo company buys the home from the seller upon contract completion and then resells it to the new buyer. This guarantees the seller their money, even if the contract falls through. If that happens, I lose the listing
and it goes into corporate homes inventory to be sold again.
Anyway, the relo company has already bought the house from my sellers, & the buyers are a young just-married couple using FHA financing. FHA is demanding proof that the relo company isn’t ‘flipping’ the house, that the seller’s company actually is working with the relo company, and that the seller really was transferred for a new job. Unfortunately, I can’t DEFY the FHA, although I want to! Am I missing something here? Do relo companies buy random houses from people who are not transferred for a new job by a company they actually work with? Is this some sort of secret scam I have never heard of? I can see the headlines now…..’Sellers pretend to be transferred to trick gullible multi-billion-dollar corporation into buying their home’. Oh yeah, sure, that would happen! Hey–there’s the answer to all the poor sellers out there who can’t sell or give away their homes. No problem! Just tell a relo company you’ve been transferred and they will buy it! There, I just solved the real estate crisis. Now on to my next project…..
Until next time…..Do MISBEHAVE!
Lots of love,
Christy
