The Final Countdown!
Can’t you just hear Europe singing? “It’s the Fi–nal Counnnnntttt—dooowwwnnnn!” And C&C Music Factory—”Here we go…here we go…here we go here we go here we go!” We are about to load up the truck and set out for Georgia. I am very excited, but calm and feeling prepared. I think I am dropping water OK today. I am looking quite lean, but still need to shed some water from my abs and lower back. My bicep vein is rocking, though—whooo–hoooo!
The food today is odd, to say the least. I am not supposed to have ANY water today and tomorrow morning, so that the carbs and glycogen can suck the water from under my skin and into my muscles. I pondered on this for a long time, and decided to make dehydrated foods, since all raw foods are , like, 85% water! So I made some ‘bread’ using lots of celery (a diuretic), onion, flax seed, walnuts, cumin, Sun Warrior sprouted barley, psyllium powder, and raw wheat germ. No sodium, though. But it still tastes pretty good. I am hoping the psyllium in particular will help dry me out.
I had this bread for breakfast, along with some dehydrated sweet potato chips. A few sips of grapefruit juice just to get down my herbal water pills–I am taking Uva ursi, Aloe Vera, Senna, and sublingual dandelion root. The Aloe Vera and Senna are to make sure there is nothing hiding in my intestinal tract, if you know what I mean. Man, am I clean!
For lunch, I had a salad, mixing some lemon juice and tahini for the dressing with a little garlic powder. That is surprisingly tasty! I picked greens from my back deck, and added a little cucumber, red bell pepper, a tiny handful of dried currants, and a good bit of celery. A little while later, I had some more of the bread. I plan to spread it throughout the day.
Tonight, I plan to eat a nut loaf and this lovely sweet potato mash I made. I added vanilla stevia and it is delicious. I creamed the raw sweet potato with the stevia, a little bit of the meat from a young Thai coconut, cashews, 1/3 cup Thai coconut water, nutmeg, cinnmon, and the juice from 1/2 a lemon. It’s really good. It’s in the dehydrator now, getting the water out of it. Should be good to go by tonight. The nut loaf is the regular way I make it from RAWvolution, but without the mushroom in it. The mushroom is good but sometimes it doesn’t agree with me, so I decided not to take a chance. The little ‘meat’ loaves look and smell delicious. It does have sodium in it from a little Nama Shoyu, but I will need SOME sodium tonight to get the protein, carbs and water to absorb into the muscles. Tomorrow morning’s meal will be exactly the same thing.
Now, for the treats. Just before we go on stage, a typical trick is to eat a Snickers bar and drink some red wine. Well, I have my raw version of that ready–an awesome raw cacao fudge full of honey, cacao butter, and coconut oil, along with pecans and almonds and goji berries–YUM! And I found some organic red wine to sip. Just a little bit! This trick really sends the body into ’sugar shock’ and just pops out the veins and makes you look more ripped, but you can’t overdo it!
And for after the contest? Welllll, I have the full-fat, absolutely decadent version of the Spirulina Pie just waiting for me! None of this lower-fat, no nut stuff. No! I am going in, and going all the way with it. I deserve it, and since I can’t have any green smoothies today and tomorrow because of the water, I am going to GORGE on my Spirulina!
I am trying to document what I did and how well it worked. I think it’s great, and definitely feels so much better than before. I have to work out the details and do some more experimentation. But so far, just substituting raw foods for the normal SAD foods has seemed to work exactly the same without the ill effects. But I am SO looking forward to a Green Smoothie Sunday morning!
I have got to run finish getting ready. I love you all and feel your positive vibes. Thank you so much for your love and support. I truly do appreciate it more than you know!
LOTS of love!
Be Defiant!
Christy
