A Message For Me?

Sorry I haven’t been blogging very much lately. I have been so busy that finding time to write my posts is difficult. I take a lot of time and think about what I want to say. Maybe I should just spew it all out and worry about it later. I don’t know–maybe that would be more genuine. But maybe not, as it takes me some thought to express myself exactly in the words that most closely describe my true feelings.

I am inspired today, though. I read a few years ago that if a hawk lands near you, he is bringing a message from God. And if he brings his mate, then the message is extremely important. It means your life is about to change. Today, I was visited by a hawk and his mate. And they were within 20 feet of me.

I love where we live–the lake, the wild wooded area to the left of our home, and the protected fringeland on the shoreline provide us with wondrous encounters with nature. We have had a fox family in our yard for a couple of weeks. Three baby foxes have been playing in my driveway, and I caught them on video a couple of times. Check out my facebook profile page for the videos at www.facebook.com/christyds.

I had been missing my foxes. But today was incredibly special, and made up for the absence of cute ears and bushy tails. I was in my back yard, and saw a hawk sitting on my rose arbor. I was almost walking right past the arbor when I saw him. Then I saw the mate on the other pole. They didn’t move and I froze in my tracks. There were squirrels playing all around, and I thought they were about to become hawk lunch, but they never seemed to even notice the squirrels. They took flight and swooped around in the trees.

For the next couple of hours, they flew around in the trees, calling out in piercing shreiks. Their cries are interesting and varied, and it is clear that they have a language all their own. I can’t see it, but I think they have a nest in the top of one of the tall white oaks. They seemed to be taking items up to that tree alot. I hope we have baby hawks!!!

At one point, one of the hawks landed on a limb above me and we just watched each other for a while. And then later, as I was heading in to the house to get ready to leave, once again both hawks were on the rose arbor. I walked up to about 20 feet away, softly talking to them. The one nearest me literally looked me in the eyes and held my gaze. It was very intense and so incredible. I continued to tell them they were welcome at my home and that I was honored to have them with us, and that they were safe here. I tried to send pure love to their spirit from my heart, and I hope they received my message. As I walked on toward the house, the hawk followed me with his gaze, turning his head to face completely backward as I passed behind him. The other hawk sat and watched as well.

I have a feeling it was not a coincidence to see the hawks at this time. I feel a big change coming on in my life, and I hope to be sharing more about that in the near future. It is a good change, which I hope will help us financially since the real estate market is just so slow. The hawks gave me a feeling of peace, hope and excitement. Their presence indicates that the change is very important and positive, and I must pay homage to the upcoming events in my life.

Blessings to you all, and may you constantly be changing for the better in your life!

Be Defiant!

Christy
